What We Provide

Salon

  • Relaxed 22-chair salon on two floors, located on Boulder’s famous Pearl Street and offering Wella, R+Co, and Oribe.
  • Full reception and operations team.
  • Wella, R+Co and Oribe-provided in-salon and virtual training. Internal education program provided by compensated team members.
  • Busy. Our top stylist in 2024 earned over $141,000, while the average for all stylist levels was $71,000.
  • Every other year, the entire stylist team is flown internationally for an employer-subsidized teambuilding/inspiration experience. Barcelona was our inaugural trip. Now making plans for 2027.
  • Apprentice program. Two apprentices join, twice a year.

Flexible scheduling options

  • 6 days a week 9a-7p (Mon-Fri) 8a-6p(Sat)
  • 32+ hours is considered full-time (includes health benefits option)
  • Unlimited vacation for full-time stylists

Compensation

  • New hires receive a minimum compensation guarantee.
  • Three tiers of commission
    • 50% commission on services. 15% on retail, if under $3,000 in earnings (calculated at 50/15) in two two-week pay period
    • 55% on services. 25% on retail, if over $3,000 and under $4,000 in earnings
    • 60% on services. 25% on retail, if earnings exceed $4,000
  • No back bar or miscellaneous charges to stylist
  • Employer match for 401(k) savings
  • Every anniversary you receive $50 times the number of years you have been with Twig. Some employees are receiving over $500 each year.
  • Every birthday you receive a modest gift certificate just to celebrate with you

  • Short-term (what happens if you sprain your wrist, break an arm?) and long-term (what happens if you no longer can perform your job?) disability options. We strongly advise stylists to consider short-term disability coverage.

About Us

Twig has a family vibe, a really great group of talented stylists, the stability of an over 10-year institution, and a renewed 10-year lease with expanding opportunities for both junior stylists building a following and stylists operating at near their peak who just want a better work/life balance, better benefits, and more income for the same or less effort and stress. That’s a tall order, but we can back it up.

Twig Hair Salon is the newest addition to the distinct Goldie x Bob Hair Salon and BarberX Barbershop brands.

Just one year after being acquired, Goldie x Bob was nominated by 303 Magazine as “Denver’s Best Hair Salon” and twice as “Colorado’s Best Hair Stylist.” In 2024, 303 Magazine went further and awarded a trifecta of Colorado awards to three of our stylists for Best Hair Stylist, Best Colorist, and Best Extensionist.

BarberX was featured on a live segment of Fox31’s Morning News program and is one of the very few barbershops in the country that sends its barbers to the Netherlands for advanced training.
